Color masterbatches always used in blown film products, which are divided into single-layer and multi-layer blown films, most of them are three, five, seven, and eleven layers. The more layers there are, the higher the requirements for color masterbatches.
Dispersibility: The film products made from highly dispersed color masterbatches have uniform colors throughout, without spots or marks. For ordinary blown film color masterbatches in the market, when the film product is in three layers, the color uniformity of the product is not a problem. When the film product is raised to five layers, the probability of product problems significantly increases, and the color distribution uniformity of blown film products is severely reduced. When the film product is raised to seven layers, the drawbacks of ordinary blown film color masterbatches are clearly displayed, and it is impossible to make a good finished product.
Concentration: The thinner the film product, the weaker the coloring effect of the same color masterbatch concentration. When the color cannot meet the requirements, the amount of color masterbatch needs to be added. Blown film products cannot increase the filling amount of color masterbatch without limitation, which will have an impact on the film product.
Coloring ability: Different pigments have different coloring abilities. The higher the coloring power, the higher the cost. For example, when coloring a yellow color with the same color depth, for color masterbatch products with different quality pigments, the same concentration will result in significant differences in color depth after coloring.
Compatibility: For blown film products, the process difficulty of multi-layer blown film itself is quite high. After adding color masterbatch, the physical and chemical properties of the product may change. Poor compatibility between color masterbatch and plastic raw materials can lead to a decrease in the performance of the raw material blown film.
Heavy metal content and safety: Especially for food packaging films and pharmaceutical packaging films, the product needs to be free of any heavy metal substances, and various raw materials in the color masterbatch must comply with the standard.
Color stability: During use, the film product must meet the standards for light resistance and migration resistance.
